Welcome to Just Me Please – a blog featuring the adventures and advice of a solo traveller.
The world is too wonderful to leave unexplored. I travel purely because it is fun. Fun to see the world. Fun to meet new people. Fun to learn new things. It is not fun sitting home alone.
Give yourself the gift of seeing the world. Have a great time. Create memories and friendships that you’ll cherish forever.
Begin your own journey by following the tips in my blog. You’ll never look back!
My goal is to encourage anyone who has ever thought:
– “I’d love to go there”
– “I want to do that”
– “I wish I was confident enough to try this”.
Don’t stay at home because you cannot not find a compatible person with the time, inspiration or financial resources to join you.
I have packed this site full of photos from my travels along with some travel tips and advice on how to get started if you are not a seasoned traveller.
Don’t live vicariously. Set yourself free. Put your travel dreams into action. Fill your mind with new sights, sounds, scents and experiences.
You will meet many like-minded and inspiring people along the way.
You’ll never leave your living room if you don’t have a plan. Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way before you know it!
- Make a list of places to see and things to do.
- Determine your budget.
- Do some research.
- Read the reviews.
- Don’t make excuses.

- Book one thing at a time.
- Apply for leave.
- Grab your suitcase and start your journey.
- Travel the world and never look back.
Save money by:

- Travel in an off-peak season to reduce costs.
Making the decision to step out of my front door and see the world, whether I had someone to accompany me or not, has been an empowering experience. I have learnt a lot about myself and seen places I had previously only dreamt about.
It is going to take a lifetime for me to visit all of the places on my travel list. I hope that by sharing my journey and experiences you will be inspired to step out of your comfort zone and explore the world.
I grew up in a small country town. The most exciting thing growing up was a trip to the city or visiting the next state.
I am glad to say that I have expanded my horizons substantially since then!
I am currently based in Brisbane, Australia and travel for both work and leisure.
I frequently travel on my own for work. This has provided me with some amazing opportunities to explore the world. I am not the type to mope around in a hotel room. I try to get out and about and see something of the places that I visit outside of office hours.
I am a sole parent who loves taking her teenage daughter travelling during the school holidays. Travelling alone with kids can be a challenge and I have included some of my survival techniques in my blog posts.
